We’re often asked which Daavlin phototherapy product a patient should buy. This is, of course, best discussed between you and your dermatologist. It is very helpful though to be educated on options to discuss with your dermatologist. If a person has full body psoriasis, eczema, or vitiligo, usually either the UV Series, 7 Series, or 2 Series are best. If hands and/or feet need phototherapy, there is a specific unit called the Daavlin M Series that is ideal. For spot and scalp treatment, the Dermapal is very affordable and perfect in most cases.

Generally most phototherapy manufacturers use the same bulbs. What is different with the units we sell has to do with how the units are constructed, plus extra features. The extra features and construction make units we sell long lasting, attractive, and they give as much control as possible to the patient.

Coal Tar Solution (LCD) 20% in Aquaphor Ointment is a natural ointment that some patients use after phototherapy or sun exposure. Coal Tar Solution (LCD) 20% in Aquaphor Ointment is quite a mouthful, so we also call this LCD 20% in Aquaphor for short. Coal Tar Solution (LCD) 20% in Aquaphor Ointment or other tar products can be found from some pharmacies, sometimes Costco, online, and other stores. Here is more about Aquaphor.
Generally it is applied after phototherapy to sooth and heal the skin. LCD (coal tar) is boiled out of tar, which is dredged from the ground. Here is more about tar.
Phototherapy can be very effective in helping skin diseases such as eczema, vitiligo, and psoriasis.
Of course all direction for a patient should be from a Dermatologist. This article is just our own research.

At least 50% of psoriasis patients have scalp psoriasis. Scalp psoriasis is often difficult to treat since it may be hidden by hair. Some people try to hide it. This can mean it gets worse and worse, often worse than psoriasis on other areas of the body.
Biologic treatments may help, but there are always major dangers of side effects.
Phototherapy can be very useful, with either a spot treatment unit such as the Dermapal, or a larger unit. Click the link below to see various Daavlin phototherapy units at PhototherapyStore.com.

Of course one thing is to hear that phototherapy is safe. Another is to have proof. We have personally known a large number of people who have used phototherapy for a long time with no issues. In fact, we don’t know any patients who have had complications from, or skin cancer from phototherapy. Some patients who still use phototherapy for their psoriasis are now elderly, having used it for a very long time. One gentleman who spoke last week about his treatment mentioned that he has now done phototherapy for 40 years. He looks great! As they say, the proof is in the pudding. It is terrific to get to know patients who have used phototherapy for such long periods of time with outstanding results. It makes us feel great that we can help psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo patients with such a safe, effective, affordable treatment.
