For most people, 2-3 phototherapy treatments per week are needed. Skin clears faster for many patients with a topical steroid used afterwards. Examples include Dovonex, Taclonex, steroid preparations, and tars. For Broadband UVB, pinking of the skin without pain is ideal. For Narrowband UVB, there should be less pinking. Face and genitals should be covered during light treatment, unless the skin condition is present.
