The photo below shows skin with Psoriasis after phototherapy. The photo below was taken 24 hours after treatment. The patient in this photo was told by their doctor that it is ideal to have a slight amount of pink color to the skin within a day. By pushing their light just a bit each time, the Psoriasis will heal over time better.

When looking into purchasing phototherapy equipment, there is more to think about than just these five items that come to our minds:
Do you buy from Daavlin or another company?
Do you get a spot treatment phototherapy unit, panel unit, or full body unit?
Do you get broadband, UVB, other?
Does insurance cover your unit?
How will I use the phototherapy machine?
Most importantly it is helpful in our experience to think about cohesive treatment for your future. It really is a pairing between you, your doctor, and anything you have read in books, online, and learned from people. To figure out your skin care treatment, it probably won’t be as easy as just do this and it gets better. For example, if you choose phototherapy:
Phototherapy treatment does take time to work
Phototherapy treatment may not work on its own, needing some prescription/s as well
Phototherapy treatment does need to be monitored over time for impact, and this care will vary depending on your doctor, nurse, and their experience
Essentially, we feel it is important to look out for yourself first. This means we feel working closely with your doctor is important, but also that the whole time looking out for oneself with research can be useful. For example, this Website has a lot of interesting information to learn about Psoriasis, Vitiligo, Eczema, Phototherapy, and more. You can learn here more about Psoriasis treatment. You can read more here on Daavlin.net by exploring our categories at the right.

There are many Daavlin phototherapy units to choose from for psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, and other skin conditions. When you meet with your doctor, it certainly helps if you are prepared with any questions as well as insightful information as possible. Believe it or not, some doctors have dealt more with phototherapy and others less or even none at all. If you go to a dermatologist and they don’t have phototherapy units in their office, that may be an indicator that they don’t have treatment facilities for phototherapy. In that case, it may be that a given dermatologist does not see patient response to phototherapy on a daily basis in the office, but may see patients and responses from home phototherapy units from time to time.
Regardless whether your dermatologist has little or on the other hand extensive experience with phototherapy, there will be many options to consider. For example, will you use a small panel unit, a larger panel unit, or a much larger unit? Do you use UVA, UVB, or other bulbs? Do you get treated aggressively a number of times per week or less times per week?
These questions may be best discussed with your dermatologist because your input may help them figure out what will work best for you. In addition, you may know other patients that have used phototherapy, and from their experiences you may have questions or particular needs to discuss with your dermatologist.

Often when a psoriasis or eczema patient has had an extreme flare, there may be more phototherapy treatments. For psoriasis patient, this could be up to 5 treatments in a week. For an eczema patient, it could be up to 3-5 treatments in a week. Keep in mind, light treatment settings and time can be very different for psoriasis and eczema. Often psoriasis may have a longer treatment time.
After skin is improving for a period, phototherapy exposure frequency may go down to as little as once per week. It is very important:
To work closely with a doctor
To realize there is a good chance the skin will be affected again
To maintain treatment
